07 Suburban 5.3 looking for more HP
Hello every one!
I have a land yacht here 07 Suburban 5.3 4x4 looking for some more HP out of it
currant: Volant CAI & daiblo programed (soon to be custom tuned)
what else can i bolt on to get more out of it when I mash the go peddle? not looking to do any thing internal at this time just bolt on stuff
I'd like to do exhaust but don't want it to be loud some mild sound if what i'm after if it can be done?

thanks guys for the input but not looking to make this a 1/4 mile king just really looking for 20 to 40 "real" ponies if possible?
was thinking more like headers, electric cutout, stall etc.....any thing that I can bolt on and really see an improvement
but dont know if its worth to do any of that?
I was leaning on the cutout since this is a DD and dont want the noise all the time but just don't know if its worth it on these engine?
since I tow is a higher stall a good idea?
do headers wake up the 5.3?

What gears you have in there?
Headers, cam, gears & tune made a really noticeable difference on my truck. That said, I agree with others, unfortunately you won't notice (as much) the benefit of bolt ons due to the heavy weight of the suburban.
Look for a used Radix in the classifieds, that's your best bet and they're not that expensive if you wait for the right deal, I've seen some sell for under $3000.

A nice little stall will give you some serious seat of your pants performance if that is all you are looking for. A Circle D stall and a bigger trans cooler. That will help that big beast move out. Also what is your tire size/gearing? If you are on stock wheels and tires along with the common 3.42 gearing you should swap up to some 4.10's That will make that bus feel a lot lighter.

my currant gears are 3.73's with 31.5" tires
again I'm not looking to do a cam or swap engines at this time i know that would be best but just not the pain at this point my 87 short box feeds my go fast needs
I just want this to be a little faster to shut up one of my cousins who thinks he has the fastest truck in the midwest LoL! but seriously I really would like a little more oomph when I nail the peddle if I can get it with bolton's?

The heavier the vehicle, the less you will notice a 30-40 hp gain. You can definately get the extra hp, but I'd bet you won't be very impressed in the end. That Suburban is a heavy bitch.
By the time you're all done, you'll have spent about half the money it costs to buy a used Maggie that would have given you a ****-ton of torque, and roughly an extra 100 hp at the wheels.
