1.15 A/R turbo housing??? Anyone used it??
Has anyone used this on their STS or other turbo kits? I have a .96 A/R on my 6.0l right now. Im going to try a 1.15 to see if it lowers my towing EGT's. I get full boost now at around 2600 RPM. I was wondering how much different the larger housing will be.

I went back to a .81 A/R housing on my GT67 because of lag. Even then it's to big once my FMIC was added in. On the 6.0L though the GT67 and .96 A/R is supposedly no problem. I think Erik was running that turbo and he said it spooled great. Damn 6.0Ls! LOL
I've never seen anyone go that big of an A/R on an STS setup so I am not sure how it will work. Your top end should increase quite a bit but you may get into that laggy area at lower RPMs. At least it's a cheap experiment

Yeah I guess Ill have to try and see. I have the To4E-60 with the .96 now. It spools great. I have no issues except the EGT's while towing. My trailer is huge so I may just have to be careful.

We finally got our kits in for the Dodges. Installed the first one on the RC but had some oil leak issues ( later found the pump was not running and thus leaked the oil into the exhaust housing ). Anyway, we installed a larger housing to check the impeller seal and left it on when we fixed the oiling issue. Went to the dyno and were not getting full boost until nearly 5000rpm. Talk about lag! Anyway, the stock turbo is going back on ASAP, more info to come.

If you do not use a load Dyno, like a Mustang Dyno, you will not see full boost until 5000 rpm. Just a though in case you are new to turbo's. I had the same problem the first time I took mine to a local dyno shop.

Can't remember what type of dyno the guy runs but we will check shortly. This may explain the lower than expected dyno results of 330 rwhp ( should have been seeing around 360 or so ). Should have my kit installed by Sat and my partners "stock" turbo back in at the same time.
