1 3/4 for 4.8, 5.3 and stockish 5.7/6.0/6.2. If at any point you think you might add a cam/heads/nitrous/blower go ahead and put the 1 7/8 on anything 5.7 cubes and bigger.

So I finally decided to order my 1 3/4 from speed Engineering and they are back ordered till next month. Was looking forward to installing in the next week or so. So should I wait or just get the 1 7/8 since they have those in stock? Haha

I’d just call that a sign of mods to come and get the 1 7/8

I have seen a lot of dyno time over the years with headers, Primary size is important but also the length of the primaries in-regard to RPM range that is intended, also the secondary pipe does matter as well. I have seen test with different size and length of secondary make changes in torque and horsepower. I would say normally aspirated less than 500 fly wheel horsepower is fine with 1-3/4" headers. Forced induction depending on the cubic inches, 1-7/8" up to as big as you fit in your design including 4-2-1 which we use.

So longer longer primaries favored low end torque and shorter primaries with larger secondaries favored higher rpms's from what I learned.

Which brand headers would you guys recommend? Tsp headers are much cheaper than Others.

I ran 1 3/4 PaceSetters on my cammed 99 5.3 and now have 1 7/8 Speed Engineering on my 14 5.3.

My Speed Engineering headers are amazing for the price. Great quailty. Definitely would recommend them.

TSP is very good quality. I used to have stainless works 1 3/4 and my TSP 1 7/8 are similar quality. I am very happy
