Default 1/4 mile times for Stock 03 Silverado

SBRC 03 Silverado
5.3 3:73 (G80)

Took the truck to the local track last week and was able to get some base line numbers.

The truck is bone stock(No weight removed)with 1200 miles on the clock.(1/4 tank of gas)

60ft 2.290
1/8 ET 9.801
1/8 Mph 73.26
1/4 ET 15.146
1/4 Mph 91.12

I was able to run 10 times

5 were in the 15.1 range
3 were in the 15.2-3 range
2 were in the 15.4 range

3 of my 15.1 runs had MPH in the 79-81 mph range?
All we can think of is the converter is locking up on those runs and the truck falls on it's face right after the 1/8?

The truck beat alot of cars to the 1/8 mile then dies on the top end!

I was able to kill:

01 TL type S
02 RSX type S
94 LT1 Camaro(Driver)
Faleen Mustang (Must have been a V6 I beat this guy by bus lenghts)

I was hummbeled by a modded Lightning he dropped a 12.6 on me!What hurts is I used to destroy that truck when I had the SS!

I want to Dyno it Stock and make one last effort at 14.99 before I start adding mods.

When are these trucks considered "Broken In"

Awesome times man!!!!

Most LS1 based motors are not fully broke in till around 3k-6k miles. IE when they reach their fullest potential at the track. My T/A gained about 2 10ths from stock to 8k miles.

Those times are very good! I am so impressed with the times in these trucks! Most magazines have little or no quarter mile/acceleration times on non 4wd Silverados or GMC's with the 5.3L and 3.73's and locking diff. I have looked EVERYWHERE but havent seen any articles. Anyone know of any on the web?

Anyway, no on to my real questions.......

I have a 2003 Sierra SB extended cab (EB?) with the 5.3L, 3.73's and a locking diff. I am wondering how much slower my truck would run since its an extra cab?

Does anyone know how much extra weight the extended cab adds over the regular cab? Knowing this would give me an idea of how the extra weight would effect my quarter mile times.

thanks,

That sounds right since a 2003 just like mine ran a 15.6 in the quarter. From what I know about drag racing every 100lbs extra or less on a car is one tenth of a second in the quarter mile. Therefore if a regular cab runs a 15.1 then a ext. cab should run a 15.4 to a 15.6 (at least).

Thanks for the info.

Glenn
