Default 1.7 Roller Rocker??

Does anyone make a decent 1.7 steel roller rocker? I know people have had issues with the aluminum ones and I don't want to get in to the 1.8 ratio. This is going on a 408(LQ9) with 862 heads. I know the stock ones with upgraded trunnions is kinda the standard but would like to find a nice roller if it's even possible. I am new to this LS stuff so if I am saying something stupid just let me know.

the upgraded stock rockers are what most run since they are lighter then roller type rockers, LS engines when built spin to 7k some spin them higher so adding weight to the top of the valves is not really wanted, its not like the old SBC stuff where you pickup 15+ hp by swapping them out

I've pulled 200k mile engines a part and the stock rockers looked good no real wear more or less just the contact surface looked polished, not sure if this helps you any

The stickers have been proven to 1k horses.

Use them with a bronze bushing kit.

However, if you just want to spend money, Yella Terra is about as good as it gets.

Good info. I’ll probably just go this route and save money for other parts.

No not looking to just toss money away. I’ll just go with the upgraded stockers.

If you want the best trunnion kit go with the CHE kit. Unlike the Smith Brothers or Straub kits the CHE has oiling grooves plus they don't need pressing inside the rockers like the others. They float inside the rocker as well the pivot and can't wear on one side like the Smith or Straub kits. That said I have the Smith kit with zero issues.

CHE Precision

I’ve had zero issues with just using BTR trunion kits on all my trucks

Look at the ws6store trunions too and texas speeds steel roller rockers that copy the factory design with a roller tip
