LS1 lifters are roller type, but not the rockers. I you go to an even higher ratio rocker you need to change the springs for the reasons already mentioned. The stock rockers are already 1.7 which is among the highest ratio production rockers on the market. Now you want to go to 1.8 or 1.85 without changing the springs at the same time. I don't know of anyone that would recommend doing that. A 4.10 rearend is going to rev quicker than one that is not designed for pulling or launching like a 4.10 is. It will reach the rev limiter in a shorter period of time than a 3.73 or 3.42 all other things being equal.

All LS1 rockerarms are rollerized at the fulcum but the stock rockers don't have rollerized tips. The Yella Terra are I beleive shaft mounted and adjustable designed for race only applications I would inquire further before purchasing them. The SLPs are OEM rockers with a 1.85 ratio and will need a valvespring change. The 1.85 rockers don't make much difference in valve duration but you get almost a 10 percent increase in lift. What most people don't consider is the increase in ramp speed which impacts cam performance as much as the increased lift and nacessitates a valvespring change.

Good info whitt. I would like to get a smaller, lighter tire, but then it would look sportier than it already does being a step side. I am going for the sleeper look, which the 31" all terrains don't give hint to what's under the hood. I wish they made 'lo-profile' all terrains.

I will tell you from my experience that shaft mounted rockers will not fit under stock valve covers. I have the jessels and am prety sure that there is not a shaft mounted rocker that will fit under the stock valve covers with out modification. I had to cut the inside of my valve covers out and all the baffels in them. this led to the pcv concuming oil. so your only option is valve cover spacers or after market. even with the spacers the pass side will need some modding.

The Yella Terra rockers are very sweet. Shaft mounted rockers are super easy to install too as you don't have to set last, just torque down and go.

For sure you will want new springs to go with the increased lift. I put 1.7s on a SBF and didn't do a spring change and experienced valve float around 5500rpms on a cam that was supposed to pull to 6000rpms+

I think there are valve cover spaces available to shim up the covers to clear the rockers.
