1.85 ratio rocker arms worth it?
I know they are about $500, but if that will really give you 40+ hp, then I wound'nt mind doing it. Plus, it's one of the only things I know how to install on my own as of now.

if you ever plan on going with an aftermarket cam I wouldnt get them. I seriously doubt they are worth 40+ expecially without supporting mods.
But on the other hand they would be easy to install as long as you dont have to modify the heads and if you arent planning on a cam I would have at it. Just be weary that alot of manufacturers report those gain numbers with full exhaust and headwork
Nothing wrong with not knowing how to do something it just means you need to read and learn then just do it. we all start somewhere

I had the Crane Quick Lift 1.8 poller rockers installed at Vinci's on the end of the Power Tour. We picked up 20 hp on the dyno, but the sop meter tells a different story. LOTS more low to mid range.

chevy high performance had vinci put in the vinci/crane 1.8 accelerated alift rockers and dual springs and dyno tested them in a 5.3L truck. here's the article http://www.stealthram.com/reddogplan.htm there was guy with an f-body that went from the slp 1.85 to the 1.8 accelerated lift rockers and gained 10 rwhp over the slp.

I had to give that plan up. And I was actually thinking about the Livernois turbo set-up because I like it better than the STS set-up. The reason being is because the 4l80e and turbo cost too much. I have to start saving for college, or eles I'll have to get used to not being able to afford anything. $6 an hour is .
