Default 1.85 rockers ?

What do these do? Where do you see the horsepower?(top end-low end)

My cousin wants to put them on his 01 Sierra 5.3 ecsb. Mods are: K&N Gen II,Descreened maf,Flexalite e-fans,jba cat4wards,transgo shift kit and servo, 4.10 with g-80, and hpp3. His best time is 14.64.

Would he see good gain alone VS combined with a 212/218,918 springs?
They have about 5k miles and are off of joejoe's old setup.

1.85 rocker arms increase valve lift and accelerate your valves more quickly. The increase in power is felt throughout the powerband. The downside of using 1.85 rockers is that they don't generally work well with an aftermarket camshaft and the performance potential of a cam change is greater. You'll also need better valvesprings to take advantage of the rockerarms so there is very little difference in cost verses a cam change.

Your true lift with the 1.85 rockers and this cam would be .571 on int. & .578 on exh. It does not effect cam dur. but does effect area under the curve at the valve! In turn making the cam appear bigger to the engine.
