1.85 rockers and ls6 springs
Has anyone installed the slp 1.85 rockers and ls6 springs? I was thinking of getting some form my truck. How much would the gain be for one or both of these modifications?
Thanks

I installed the Pro Mags. They are high quality, but expensive. All roller rockers are quite pricey. You should also consider the Jesels if you going to change to fully rollerized rockers. You will have to mod the passenger side rocker cover a littlle to get it to fit on after you install the Jesels. I think they are 1.8, but they are shaft mount and a little more expensive. When you get into the $500 range for rockers what's a few more dollars? It's only money and you can't take it with you. The factory bolts have locktite under the heads of the built-in flat washers so you'll need a breaker bar to pop the locktite. Once the locktite fractures you can just about spin the OEM bolts out by hand. I went with the Comp 918 blue stripes because I had plans at the time I installed them to go to a bigger cam which I eventually did. They are good to 600. If you go with non-shaft mount rockers your going to have to upgrade your pushrods too because the pushrods rub on the sides of the rocker guide plates. The factory pushrods can't handle that abuse. I installed some Comp Hi Tech Pushrods to deal with the guide plate issue. Shaft mount rockers like the Jesels don't have this problem, but if I were going to spend $700 for rockers I'd upgrade the pushrods at the same time. If you want some real horsepower pull your heads and have them CNCed. That will set you back $1500 to $2000. After that the only thing you'll have to buy is new tires to replace the burnt rubber, but yeah it's only money! By the way one of my 918s was broken and I didn't even know it. I found it when I pulled the heads to ship them for the CNC process. When I pulled the old valves out the first coil of one of the springs was stuck to the retainer. Comp told me that was the first blue stripe they knew of that broke, but they probably tell everyone that story.
