Default 1 piece EXT cab driveshaft

How many of you extended cab guys have a 1 piece driveshaft. I have a friend that had a bad vibration problem in his 4x4 HD. He had it in the shop 4 times with all the standard fixes. Then they finnally replaced his 2 piece with the one piece. You guys think there is any advantage to this? Strength or otherwise?

I have pondered the same question. The two piece drive shaft has to eat-up more horsepower that a single one but I dont know how much. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

My HD came with one. I had it out the other day. It only weighs about 20-25 lbs. It was very light.

I thought all short bed ext. cab 4x4s had one piece aluminum drive shafts. With the transfer case its not all that long. My drive shaft is about 6 feet long, but if I could find a good light weight one piece I wouldnt mind swapping.

I spoke with Dennys early last year about it. At the time, all they offered was a 2 piece. Makes sense about the transfer case. Forgot about that. May be time to contact Denny's again.

i've installed about 30 of those things to elimiate the 2 piece version. they are much lighter and keep the driveline angles more consistant which was a huge problem. they fixed the launch shudder condition on almost every case i installed them in, took some un-needed weight off the truck, and added a bit more power at the wheels. very good mod usually under warrenty. although it doesn't state it in the bulletin, i've also done it on a couple 03's. the bulliten number for those who want to check it out is: 01-04-17-001B.
