My IAT sensor.
I could not get my a/f were I wanted it between shifts using a maf.....

I am in no way knocking SD tuning, I am in SD now but evertime the weather changes your ve calculations are off. Plus the mathmatics for figuring the MAF is much more precise with a faster sampling rate (record the waves on a lab scope & play them back). If speed density only was the way to go
then i find it hard to believe GM would not have gone to MAF+SD.

They are talking about deleting the MAF all together. In that case there would be no IAT sensor.
You can't run SD, MAF, or any other PCM based tune without an IAT. If you remove your MAF, you have to relocate or replace the GM IAT.
