Nice runs Jim, you don't need a 409 to hit 10's with that setup, I guarantee it. It can be done.

Damn, no 10s. Still a good run. Maybe backing the nitrous down to a 50 shot and leaving the boost at 10lbs. Then spray the whole way? Keep the A/F at 11.8ish. Whatcha think?

fast time
Hey all, new to the forum but I've been lurking for a while. The times some of you are getting intrigues me but I have too many projects at the moment. Sometime soon I'll add a lid, port the TB and add a fogger to my 2500HD...maybe throw one of my te-44's or te-45's on it.
Anyway, enough intro., GREAT time there Parish! If the motor/head is OK, throw a new set of gaskets on there and try again!
I think a few mentioned fuel and also forget if you mentioned you were using an EGT gauge or not. Highly recommended. Also, were you using C16 or similar? Why such a big turbo? What a/r are you using on the turbine side? Just curious...you might achieve faster times with less turbo. I see some of the Buick guys follow the "bigger is better theory" with terrible results. I'm sure it's been discussed before but I've missed alot so I apologize if I'm reiterating anything. Thanks!

on a 6.0L motor i dont think at76 is big at all, the thing builds boost almost instantly, the max rated flow on the t76 is 95lbs/min and i am probably pushing 65lb's/min all ready and i just got it running a couple of weeks ago. i will max that turbo.
i might try it again if i can find any problems why it would have spit out this gasket.

Hey Denali, thanks!
I agree that you're obviously doing something correct. Your truck is going fast! I am just trying to be helpful with correlating past Buick Turbo performance with what you're trying to accomplish.
The MOST you're going to flow with any 350 - 370ci motor is roughly 55-60lbs./min., at 10lbs. of boost. You will NOT max that turbo, a T76 (if we're discussing the same T76 - 76mm compressor wheel) is good to 90+ lbs./min., ask any turbo guru. I have the almost same PT-72 turbo, same turbo with slightly smaller wheel - 72mm vs. 76mm wheel or 2.84" inducer vs. 3.02" inducer with the same 4.02" major. You will only max that turbo by going to more cubic inches (500ci + at 10lbs. boost) or raise your boost levels to upwards of 20+ psi.
Again, I'm not saying it's the wrong turbo as QMP is using a GT trim "76" style turbo with good results on a 5.7 LS1. They are using 57lb. injetors, I'm not sure what you're using...have you thought about fueling issues and possibly going to bigger injectors? I'm trying to give you an idea of capability and what you'll need to reach your goal, it would be great to see you hit 10's...gives me a goal to reach with my big *** truck...hahaha.
Speaking of which, have you thought about selling your "kit" or making copies of your piping, etc. to sell? It might be worth your while and I would also like to be a vendor if it is your kit. Thanks Parish, just trying to be helpful, please dont take this the wrong way.

sorry to hear about your bust. i was so hopping you would hit 10's. oh well!! i sure you can still tune better, you haven't had your turbo that long. maybe you were rushing it. but it was worth the 11.43 in my book.
hey i was wondering if you had any videos of your speedo when you run your truck? if you do, would you please post them. i want to see how fast your speedo climbs.

this is a kit, i got it from cmotorsports, one of the site sponcers.
i do plan on more cubes and more boost, afr headed 409 is in my future. my maf sensor flatlines at 60lb/min at about 5500rpm, i shift at 6500rpm, that is where i am guestimating the 65lb/min number.
i have 57lb injectors(66lb at the ls1 fuel presure), and duel walbro 340m fuel pumps, i may have to upgrade though, i am at 76% duty cycle all ready.
and no offence but... I WILL max that turbo
