Default 14-bolt info

Last week, I told y'all that I'd found a place that builds 14-bolts on eBay. Just out of curiousity, I sent the guy an email, and this is the response that I got...

Hi ,
Sorry for the delay in response to your question , we get so many of them , we try not to miss any , or forget anyone , but sometimes it happens, to answer your question, we can build the axle you are requesting, with a custom built full spool, with huge 1.5 " custom semi- float shaft's , with huge double row brg's , with any ratio you like up to 5.13 with disc brake's for $2,300-2,500, if you are really serious about this set-up , we will work with you on the price to get you the bottom line that we can do it for .once again so sorry fro the delay.
thank you
It's actually not as bad as I thought, but it's still expensive and a little overkill for what most of us are needing. I still think that a Moser or similar 12-bolt would be more than enough for what we're doing, but wanted to share this just in case anyone might like to give it a read.

why not just grab one out of a wrecked 2500LD or a Z71 with the towing package......both of those have the SF 14 bolt

Are these NBS, 6 lug rear ends?!?!? That makes this a little more interesting if they are...

I thought the 2500LD's were still 8 lug?

NBS Z71's with the towing package have the 6-lug SF 14 bolt, 2500LD's are 8-lug but the 6-lug 14-bolt axles swap right in

also, ALL 88-98 2500's had the 6-lug SF 14-bolt and all you'd need to do to make those work is swap everything from the axle-housing out over to the new stuff (backing plate, rotors, etc)
