I am very familiar with SPECTRA boats as they were one of the largest jet boat manufacturers in the day. they built daycruiser boats that are VERY HEAVY. BTW the world record for a jet boat is just above 160mph with a blown nitro injected hemi and a light layup single seat tunnel hull. I think your friend needs to buy a GPS.
Speed on water is deceiving. 60mph feels like 120mph on land. Most spectras would be lucky to see 80mph in there most modified form.

140ish in my silverado SS...friend next to me in his vette told me we got up there...ill have to trust him cause my speedo doesn't go that high. didn't push it any further than that. coasted a bit so i didn't have to burn up my brakes...
