I was wondering which would be better between the 160* and the 180* thermostat... i have heard that the 160* thermostatwill run at 180* all the time... so wouldnt it just be the same to get the 180 or would it run at like 200* lol.....well tell me what ya'll think.

I have the 160 and said "yes" to the HPP3 when it asked if I had it. Supposed to advance timing a little, but I didn't feel any difference from before.
Yes, the 160 runs at 180 all the time, hotter if I turn on the A/C

The search option is a great tool,

I saw very little gains on the dyno with hypertech tuning but at the track it kicks ***.
I have never seen any substantial proof of the "160 tuning" gaining over non-t-stat tuning. Hypertech uses the t-stat to gain power and it is a very little gain at that. If your talking 5rwhp with the 160 stat vs maybe 2.5 gain without, I don't think you'll notice.
I run a 180 stat without any problems. My iat temp stays right arount 177. I switched from the 160 because when I used to drive my truck in the cold months it would never heat up, even with the elctric fans off. But if you live in a warmer climate you'll never have that problem.

I run a 160 degree thermostat in my Tahoe and I've never had any problems or set off a code because of it,even running stock tuning.I could see wanting the warmer thermostat if you live in a cold environment to make your heater more effecient.I doubt you'll see much difference between the two.
