Default 160 degree thermostat ?s

hey guys.. i bought a 160 degree thermostat when i got my supercharger,, only to find out that a thermostat is included with the supercharger kit, but i got the hypertech powerstat and i noticed that it was different in 1 spot compared to the other stat... when your lookin at the bottom of the stat.. that part that goes in the block, there is a shiny metal circle piece of steel that is about the size of a half dollar.... it is slightly bent on one side and i was wondering if this is normal, or if it will affect the stat? i will post a picture tomorrow if needed.

That piece at the top of the picture should be straight. I don't know what affect that would have on it, but mine was straight.
