Default 160 jet stat

why is my temp gauge still reading 205 210 after i installed a 160 stat?is it because it might not be burped out or what isnt 160 160 ?or is that another thing i have to wait till its tuned to fix after my cam swap this weekend?

Not sure why. My 160* stat brought my running temp down to 174* on my 6.0

A 160* stat will just open sooner than a 195, 180, etc. stat, but the engine will still heat up in warmer weather. If you're still using the factory fan clutch, you'll more than likely still see the same temps that you did with the factory stat. Also, if you're going by the factory guage, you're not seeing the actual temperature, the factory guages aren't accurate. Check the temp with a scan tool or other form of logging software for an accurate reading.
