well any one put one in the 04 trucks yet if so any problems i oredered one from tom

 

Put one in Saturday morning. It took me about 30 minutes. Truck runs cooler, but not as cool as I thought it would. The gage is reading about 190, which is OK with me.

My only gripe was the truck had no drain valve!? I had to lose about 1.5 gallons of fluid.

 

not to high jack this thread but i talked to a guy at hypertech and he said that it might set off a light.i would like to know as well

 

What stat comes stock in these trucks?

 

I believe stock is a 195*. And it is possible that you will need programming after install...maybe someone with knowledge can pipe in. I will be doing a 160* in the very near future.

 

yep i was told it would set a serive egine soon light im hopeing the guy didnt know what hes talking about

Didnt it have a drain tube on the drivers side of the radiator along with the drain?
I just added a 180 stat and my truck runs about 190 at idle.

 

I bought one from lingenfelter.com and installed it in my 04 and have had no problems yet. It is a 160 and my gauge stays around 170-175. When I bought my hypertech the guy told me the same thing that a 160 wouldnt work.I like the hypertech thermostats but I just got tired of waiting on them to put it out for the 04 models.

 

If one was there, I couldn't find it. I didn't search too long, because I had been hearing that the '04s no longer had them.
