Well I was at my brother's O'Reillys store today and was going to pick up a 160 thermostat for my truck to help the HPP3. When I asked a friend of mine behind the counter (about 50 yrs old with many years of car experience) where the 160 thermostats were he said "nope, you don't want to put a 160 in your truck because they are not made for it. It will not burn the air fuel mixture right and will mess up emmissions" Also it will make the truck not run right. Of course I completely agreed, eventhough I didn't because he would argue until the sun went down. Anyways is any of that, in any way true. Have any of you guys had a problem with your truck/emissions after installing a 160 thermostat? BTW doesn't programming the HPP3 for a low temp thermostat make the programmer advance timing even more, thus making more power?

Well your truck goes into closed loop fueling long before 160*, so I wouldn't worry about it. I've had a 160* thermo and 34" rad for hell, a long time now and have no adverse problems.
Some vehicles just don't respond well to 160* thermos. These trucks run okay with them.
Yes you will increase emissions due to cooler combustion but it won't matter as in Texas we have the OBDII scan.
