My 2 cents is this....4 Nittos on the street and 2 slicks and 2wd at the track. You are not gonna dead hook with 4 radials at the track, but if you come close I think you will have major durability probs.

Why not mix-match. get 4 drag radials for the street. put some slicks with the same O.D. on the back for at the track. Maybe 4-link it.

i want 4 of the same tires and i want to be able to rotate them too when they start to wear. no slicks for me.

i am not the least bit worried about durability issues, if it breaks i will find a way to fix it and make it stronger. there is always a way. it is nice to see some bigger 16" sizes coming to market, a 29-32" tall 16" DR would be the ****.

Tooquick-what size drag radials are you running? You have 3.42 gears too and still loose traction...I may have to rethink about drag radials.

With my 20s I can blow off the tires all the way through the eighth mile mark So I am trying to get some tire ideas.

Tooquick, you must have some low profile drag radials to be having that much of a traction problem. I promise you if my old R/T cut a 1.6 with those 305 45 18's you could too. Hell I put down 512 RWHP with that truck and 486 ft pounds and you are no where near that....

The BFG Drag Radials are very sticky with 4wd you'll probably to bring the motor up hard against the converter just to break the tires loose enough to keep the truck from bogging out of the hole.Roll slowly through the water and do a hard burnout to heat all 4 tires, stall the motor up to 4000 rpm and hang on tight.

there will be no bogging , 408 and a nice shot out of the hole will make sure of that.

the 15's are probably the way to go, soo many choices in tires and the taller side wall. i need one to see if i can get it to fit.

IMO don't water the BFGs if you go that route. I had 'em on my 12.86 NA 5.0 and a short (dry) scrub + 18 psi in the tires is as much hook as I could ever get. Since they have tread, water'ing 'em = risk of wet tires on the line and not much benefit. But then again, I could burn the tires of that car without the water
