Default 2 weeks, .560 lift, stock springs.

Yep, i'm still running my stock springs with the LPE cam. I havent had the extra cash for the 918s yet so i decieded to see how stock springs would hold up. Talking to one of the local chevy dealer mechanics he told me that the stock springs are good for .550 lift. I know i'm over and i do plan to get new springs, but i have been shifting 1-2 at 6500 rpms and 2-3 at 6300 with no hint of valve float of any other problems. I have put a little over 500 miles on it ragging on it hard too.

I dont recommend doing this, cuz i'm sure if i left them in i will break something.

I've had 2 races wit hthe new cam and the results were pretty fun. First was an 02' Trailblazer w/5.3 and the other was a black Lightning. I pulled on the Trailblazer bad. The lightning i didnt pull on till i got up in the rpms and into 2nd. By 75 i had almost 2 truck lengths on him.

More fun stuff to come, unless i get unlucky and blow this motor. Then comes the 6.0 project.

.560 lift on STOCK springs ???......I was under the impression that the stockers will only do .515 !!!

Hell.....that means that the Comp 212/128 .522/.529 would work on STOCK SPRINGS ????? ...I'm really not sure I'd want to but DAMN, I didn't even know they'd work !!!!

If this is true I could see running stock springs with a non XE-R cam, I would be fairly comfortable using them on a low-lift mind cam

I'm gonna go measure a stocker....I'll get back to you guys in a while on this

225 shot? Holy **** batman. If you get un-lucky and blow it? You mean if you get lucky and it survives more than a few bottles...

I can almost guarantee you are floating those valves. Hit a dyno and look for some nice jagged lines towards 5800rpms and higher Get some good springs and you will probably see a nice gain in horsepower with things working correctly.

Be careful man. If a spring breaks, the probability of a valve dropping isn't to far off. ...But then you could get heads to go with your 6.0L

They are stock heads ported and milled .050. I did some home polishing before i put them back on, but nothin special.

The way it was explained to me is a 2000 LS1 has .500 lift. You can safely go to 1.85 rockers without having to swap springs, whick would be .544 . The trucks springs are suposed to be the same lift specs as the basic LS1.(as per that guy, i dont know for sure)

I've been spraying 225 for about a year. Maybe a little more. Other than burning some plugs getting the A/F set right i havent had any problems YET.
