2000 model crankshaft question
Was it just the '99 6.0L crankshafts that were longer than the new ones? I'm going to order a converter and trans. soon and was wondering if my '00 5.3L has a normal crankshaft.
I don't want to be installing the new converter and find out it doesn't fit.
Thanks
John

Re: 2000 model crankshaft question
John,
I measured my 2000 4.8 crank and it measured ~23-5/8". I have a stock LS1 crank laying around, and it was identical. But, some info I read says all the truck cranks were longer, not just the 99/00 6.0's and would not interchange. I will be contacting the the guy who wrote it to get some clarification on it. Not sure what year the LS1 crank is, but they are all the same anyway.
