Alright, you guys are the s*#t! I've now ordered a 160 stat and a UPD. Am considering a JEG aluminum radiator with Perma-cool cool-pack II electric fans. How do this fan stack up to others 'cause they are around $600 and if there is a comparable one then I'd go with that and use the extra cash for something else? One more thing, anybody need a drop in K&N? I've already got one installed and the UPD is supposed to be coming with one too.

Get the Flexalite 295s or LS1 fans instead
The flex's will run ya 315 shipped more or less...
You can get a nice set of LS1 fans for ~$130 shipped on eBay and either get the flexalite VSC or wire them up to the ECM and get LS1 Edit to turn them on...if you don't want to mess with Edit, get a custom tune from Allen www.nelsonperformance.com

I'd say try the LS1 fans, you can get the whole package that you need to install and run for about $170. That includes fans and controllers.

Check out this page, near the bottom.

I just got off the phone from Jeg's where I also had a Cool Pack on order (backordered till the 22nd) and cancelled that unit. Everyone had advised me to install a LS1 fan unit with VSC. It's a whole lot cheaper and somewhat factory looking and does the same function as the high $ unit.
