Default 2001 Z06 Cam

I need some feedback on the 01 Z06 cam vs 02 Z06 cam. I know they have a different lift and durations but what does it translate into as far as power and where the power is made in the powerband. I am really looking for a cam to help my lowend and midrange power for towing. Any suggestions?

I hear both are a pretty high revvin cam. Power is made in the mid to high RPM's, low end isnt very good. Again, there are alt of people running them.

01 ZO6 Cam 204/211 .525/.525 116
02 ZO6 Cam 204/218 .551/.555 117.5

I think those specs are right. Forgive me if they arent guys. The wide LSA makes for power up high. A stock 5.3 is 115. I picked up a Comp 212/218 .522/.529 114 from a guy in town. Snagged it brand new for $200 bucks. This cam supposedly keeps low-end power. But really pulls from like 2000 to 6200 RPM's. Im gonna see how my truck acts with that cam before I look into a new converter. I hope some of that helps ya a bit. All the experts will chime in before long!!

Whoops
Forgot to say what I had. I am running a ext cab Z71 with a 4.8 and 3.73 gears. It runs good but could definitely use some more low end and midrange for towing. Probably going to end up doing a Volant, Z06 maf, header, exhaust, programmer and gears (4.10). Want to keep it simple as possible but not objected to a cam and torque converter. Yeah, so if you all have a cam that can increase lowend and midrange with high end being not so high on my priority list that would be great thanks.

I dont think that ZO6 MAF is a great idea. Search through the old posts on it before you decide to buy it. Comps 206/212 .515/.522 112lsa would probbly do what you want. Might lope a tad!

You don't know anyone with that cam do you? I guess if anybody reading this has one or knows somebody let me know how it works in their trucks. With that close (112) lsa it will lope more than say a 114 or 116, right? I don't really care much cause I like that lope. But will it affect the idle or anything else like that?

Almost forgot my cam should be at the house now just waiting for the springs to get there. Can't wait to get it all in.

All I can do is sit and stare at mine. Maybe I will wake up one morning and it will magically be in my truck!
