Default 2002 454 3500 any info

Well this is for a friend of mine. he just bought this truck seems rather low on power for being a 454. Any one have the specs on this engine and any leads to find out good mods to start out with before jumping into the engine. Is this engine LSX based?

i'm pretty sure the 454's weren't in 02' trucks. It's a 496 or somebody swapped in an old 454 in which case we wouldn't know unless we saw some pictures. If its a 454 it'll say 454 on the valve covers.

Would be the 8.1 liter. Get it custom tuned for a wake up in power.

First off thanks for all the help. I may have made a mistake on the year its a 2000 not a 02. Its old school with a distributor ignition and looks to me a two piece aluminum intake injectors are located under the intake. I will check the cover for 454 I want to say it doesn't say it though. What software do you tune these trucks with? I have edit and access to hp tuners but don't think either will work. Are heads and cam the only way to give this thing a wake up call?

Yea spray s/c turbo. Head and cam first. Anyone have the stock specs on this engine. Any starter mods? IS this the same engine used in the early ss trucks?
