Default 2002 Silverado 1500 Z71 Engine Swap

Quick little run down and back story. Ever since I was young I always had a need to have a long term on going project, just something about the feeling you get when you take something regular and build it up into your dream machine. It started off small with learning how/building my own computer which is now a multi-thousand dollar gaming pc lol oops but now that I'm content with it I'm ready to get into something much much bigger. So I thought, why not my truck? a 2002 Silverado 1500 Z71 w/ a 5.3 but the truck was bought used and I don't think the oil changes were very regular so I'm not comfortable doing any power modifications because I'm not sure of it's condition and it has 107k miles on it, plus one of the heads on one of the manifold bolts snapped off.

My goal for the truck in 4 words is "Daily Driven Street Beast" essentially... My serious goal for this truck is to put down some serious power with the help of a blower and nitrous (700+ rwhp) which will both come later. I want something that will get me back and forth to work, to the track and back home without problems. And I really love the sleeper-esque aspect that my truck has and people won't expect so much power So in this particular situation since this is going to still be my daily driver I'm learning towards a crate engine, something that's brand new and more reliable than something I might find at the junkyard or eBay.

LSX 376-B8 (Crate Engine) 376 ci 6.2L 450 hp
LSX 376-B8 Crate Engine - Race Engine | Chevrolet

I like this option because the price is low but that's because it comes without the intake manifold and other accessories. I WILL be running nitrous so I'm just going to buy a LS3 manifold already equipped with the nitrous kit. This engine comes with forged internals to support up to 8lbs of boost which is perfect for my goal of later adding a supercharger.

What do you guys think? or any ideas that will help me achieve my HP goal. Thanks

Thats way too much money for a motor if you ask me, I'd mod the stock block and build another engine on the side, save you tons of cash dollars.

Then build a tranny or swap to a 4L80e.

I was looking at the 4L80-E but I'm still trying to find a motor to set my sights on, I really do like the LSX 376 but I just wanted some opinions. This thread isn't my official build thread I guess, so I haven't posted any other info.

and yeah it is expensive but like I said this is also going to be my daily driver so I want something that's going to be reliable as well
