The 212/218 .522/.529 114 lsa Comp cam works great in the 6.0Ls. Power right off idle to 6000+.

Comp also has a 206/212 .515/.522 112 lsa I don't know how well it would work.

I wouldn't go any bigger for your truck, pulling all those sleds around.

There are two versions of that 212/218 cam. A high lift and a low lift. With the low lift, I am pretty sure you can use Zo6 springs. With the high lift you will need something like comp's 918 springs. Hopefully someone else can add to this and help you out.

Yeah, I think the Comp cams would be a good choice

I'm VERY happy with my VHP 047 grind. Big torque increase starting at 2K, with a strong midrage. Pulls hard to 6000+. I had it shifting at 6,300 for a bit, but I don't like winding the motor that hard. Still pulls plenty hard up there. VHP makes a few more grinds that would be good - similar to the Comp stuff, with different technology. Their Accelerate Lift lobes look to be physically "fatter" than the Comp lobes. (that's what they're talking about with the large .1" and .2" lift specs).

I think you'd like the 044 out of all of them. You can always call them up an ask. I'm CERTAIN they'll give a good recommendation.

marc_w, that link for VHP doesn't work. I'm curious to see what cams they offer, mind posting the correct link?

What is the advertised duration on your cam. The comp is 265/271 for 212/218 at .050". The Comp cams have aggressive lobes, especially the high lift versions. The Comp cam that I have makes all kinds of valve train noise.

marc_w- I called VHP and talked with Roger...he thinks the 042 would work for me since I dont have a "hot rod" truck and tow a 6500 lb trailer and I want to keep my 33" tires-LOL-thanks-BJ

It's 272/280 at .004". I'm not sure if that differs THAT much from the normal .006" advertised readings.

If you take advertised duration into account when you look at the 210/218 at .050 - you'd think the cam is ground with real tame or weak lobes. I was real skeptical about this, and worried about the way the cam would perform.

EDIT: Also, about valvetrain noise - I had that too with old 220/220 Comp ground cam. This VHP one is quiet as stock.
