Mild cam swaps in 4.8 and 5.3 are gaining 30-45 RWHP.

I was also looking at the comp cam with 206 dur. and .515 lift. They say good stock replacement, good torque and power over stock.

Okay...looking at Lingenfelter site....they have one that is 205 dur. .540 lift.

Would not this be a good stock replacement for a stock 5.3?...only alot more power or torque down low?

The Comp. cam is 112? or 113 LSA and the Lingenfelter 116?

What does a higher LSA do vs a lower LSA.?

With the suitable springs, would the Lingenfelter be a good stock replacement?

That Lingenfelter is a good cam, except that I think it is straight-up, no advance ground in. You would want at least +2, maybe +4 to give you usable power off idle with the stock converter. You can do this on install but whoever does it has to know their stuff.

Larger (i.e. 116) LSA spreads the power out more, over a smaller (i.e. 112) LSA, for example, from 2000-5500 RPMs for a wide LSA vs 3500-5000 RPMs for a narrow. Narrow LSA is nice in a F-Body with a manual tranny, but in a heavy truck with an auto, wider works a little better. It's not as 'peaky' (meaning less sudden impact) and doesn't snap your head back as much, but it is smoother over the powerband.

So in short, larger LSA makes the powerband wider, advance moves the powerband down the RPM curve.

I sure did, I am running 2001 LS6 valve springs. The stockers are only good to .500 lift. BTW changing the cam is super easy, but valve spring are a huge pain in the *** especially on a 4x4 (lots of places for the keepers to hide). I didn't buy any extra keepers, I dropped a least 3, and each time it was 20-30mins to find. The worst one fell into the frame rail through a hole at the top and slid down the curve.
