2004 6.0L Supercharger Questions
I have a '04 2500HD 6.0L CC and would like to install either a Whipple or Radix Supercharger, but would like everyones opinions and problems they have encountered after doing this. I use the truck as everyday transportation and also plow snow with it commercially. But I want to gain at least 60-90HP and as much torque as I can, and have heard a tune will not do this.
Has anyone had problems with drivetrain issues after installing a supercharger? I understand if you do a breakstand or holeshot after every stop light you can expect problems, but for those daily drivers who get on it once in awhile, have you had any problems. Also, are they very difficult to install, or require alot of other aftermarket parts (Ie: injectors, fuel pump, etc)
I believe the Radix kit comes with most everything needed??
Thanks, Jason

Yes to your driveline question, but with the 4l60e AT, however, you've got the 4l80e(much stronger)(assuming AT), AND you have the AAM1050 Full Floating Rear End(Super Strong).
Remarkably, the AAM860 or common 10bolt rear end on the 1/2 tons has held up rather well to abuse.
Is yours a 4x4? if so you have the AAM925 front diff(again strong).
The Radix would be best based on your requirements IMO.

You might consider a STS turbo nothing make low end TQ like a turbo can at least when you get it spooled up. Being your truck has a 4L80E do a shift kit and a upgraded servo and it will hold anything that these 3 kits throw at it.

I am not sure which transmission I have (4x4 Crew cab, Automatic w/tow-haul mode). How do i tell which transmission I have (4l60 or 4l80)
So has anyone installed the radix kit, and how do they like it?? Had any problems??
I've done the turbo scene once with a '03 Dodge Diesel, and was not impressed with the lag time for the turbo to kick in, especially when plowing snow, would rather have "off idle" power that wait for it, when moving large piles of snow..

Ok thank you for the info...I've never messed with changing injectors or even tuning the computer. I have built several engines before for my Chevelle, but never have worked with the newer electronics, etc. Im assuming these kits are pretty straightforward, something I can do in my shop w/o a laptop and software??

The Radix seems to be very simple inj are installed and most of the kit is already assemble and it comes with a programmer to set the computer up. If your going for best performance you can tune it your self but from what you said the program it comes with will be fine.
