Buy one, swap it, tune it and pray the 4L60e holds together.

There really is nothing else to it, they are basically a 100% direct swap. Minimal things like VVT can either be kept or removed/tuned out and same with the AFM/DoD stuff depending on where the 6.2 comes from and what year.

That can be helpful in gaining extra line pressure and firmer shifts but that won't make it any stronger. A stock 4L60e can barely handle stock power levels with abuse, add another 80hp and 100ftlb torque and it's pushing it even harder.

I've thought about buying a 08-13 to mod because I really like the 6 speed. I would want RCSB 4x4 but I guess I'd have to do a 6.2 swap as well. Do you have a favorite year on Sierra's? I just prefer the styling on these yrs over the Chevy.

You'd want a 2010+ to make sure it has a 6L80e behind it from the factory on a 5.3 truck. A 4.8 work truck would only have the 4L60e still.

FFDP I bought this truck new in 2008 it has 89k on it and it is a 4X4. I guess it has the 4L60E. Where is a good place to get tuned. Dealer or send computer out?

It would have to be custom tuned. Ideally some place that could tune it in person or depending on where you live maybe even someone from this forum that does tuning.

A dealership wouldn't do this type of thing.
