If you're positive you're going to get a different converter, that opens you up to bigger cam possibilities. If I had a higher stall (like the TB one you are looking at) I would seriously be looking at something like a 210/216 or 212/218. If you're willing to go 212/218 (which you should be able to do with a 2000+ RPM stall), you would likely be able to find someone selling one of those, as they are very popular here. There is a low-lift and a high-lift version of that cam, either one would work. I bet you could pick one of those up for $200 (give or take) in the classifieds. Just post a 'WTB: 212/218' and I bet you get a taker.

i just think the 212 would be to big for my truck.. stock idle is a must since im **** about idle.. i have the thumpy stuff in my car so i dont want the truck idling like my car. Car idles great, but i couldnt stand he sound 24/7:-P

208/114 is probably as big as i would go if thats possible

I don't think duration is the only factor in idle quality, I think LSA and other things go into it as well. You can do a lot with a good tune. I bet you could tune a 212/218 so no one knows you have a cam, even you. But if you're not going to get a tune, that is definitely a consideration. I will tell you, my little cam (with medium lift) does not idle like stock. I mean it's close, but it lopes a little bit. May have more to do with the lift (.548/.540), LSA (113.6), and lobe design than duration, though....plus all I have for a tune is the stock SuperChips Radix tune.

I'd think that's why yours lopes a bit...if I would have gotten my cam as Comp offered it off the shelf with a 112 lsa, it would definitely have a considerable lope. Since I have the 114 lsa, (not to mention my lift is only .515/.520), it's pretty smooth if set above 600 rpm. Even at 575 you can barely tell that it's there...I kinda wish that I went with the 112 to bring the powerband down a little bit and give me a little lope.

oh come on.. both you guys dont like your 205 and 206 cams.. take them out and give it to me:-P

AV, i dont mind a lil lope.. just didnt want so much it annoys me and stalls out.

Ill probably get the vinci tuner, if not then a nelson tune later on. But i wanted something I could place in there and still idle great at stock rpms for about 2-4months

My truck runs great with the Crane/Vinci tuner set to cam1, bump idle up 50rpms, and increase shift timing and firmness. Awesome around town. Now at WOT, my PCMforLess tune is unbelievable.

I like my cam, but you know how it is...you start thinking what if I did this, or what if I just had a little more lift and a tighter lsa...it's like the newness wears off, and you want more!
