Preston, thanks for info.
jiar577, only $40? You got a pretty good deal. Used right? Even so.

I run the 212/218 on a 112 lsa, its def the way to go for a nice DD cam. Great midrange power, with little loss down low when running a stock verter.

They were taken out of a brand new corvette. Lingenfelter sells them at a good price too, like $55-$60 if I'm not wrong. No need to get expensive springs for at this cam lift.

This good info keeps makin me want to put a cam in. For probably what 4-6 hrs of work? 4 hrs. for a wrench, 6 hrs. if it's me. Be gentle, it'll be my 1st. In a Gen 3.
Time also depends on whether 1.8 rockers are put in or whatever rocker someone uses, I'd think.

It took me a couple of days to do it but it was the first time I wrenched on anything lol, besides I didn't have the right tools and had to make 3-4 trips to my friend's shop to pick different tools. And I was extra careful double checking every step so I didn't mess anything.

It's really easy to do, just time consuming, but I think it's possible to do it in 6-8 hours. The springs is where I lost most time.

The springs are the hardest part of the cam swap IMO...and they're a lot easier with compressed air and the Crane valve spring tool...

The springs do take up a lot of time. The only other 'obstacle' IMO would be the crank pulley coming off and on, other than that really straight forward.

Just go to Home Depot and get 6-8ft 5/16" dowel rod cut in half and use that with the spring compressor tool, imo

THis is really useful. Now on my LQ4, I will be using the yellow springs but, can I also use 7.4 pushrods or will I need another length? I'm replacing my oil pump and water pump while I'm add it too. Supporting mods listed below.
