I'm sure you can get that cam ground for you. Contact most any sponsor who orders custom ground comp cams. Yes it should make better torque and have good throttle response.
I think it should pass emissions with that cam. Many cars are running much larger cams and getting through emissions.

Re: 212/218 dyno results w/ stock heads
Thanks guys. Jason, does Thunder make (or can they make) a slightly smaller cam than the TR220? I am just wonder ing if something like a single pattern 216 with TR lobes (or XE high rpm) would make almost as much power while keeping the very low rpms strong. Just curious. Oh yeah, how much advance?
Gonz - The only difference in that cam and the one you have is the lift (due to more aggressive lobes). You told me once you could care less about lift. Whats up....???

I do like the idea of a single pattern 216 myself and it is something we had planned to try in the near future. I really don't think the added exhaust duration is worth too much in a n/a setup with a good exhaust setup.
The cam had +2 ground in.

BigTex,
I decided that I am going to put my Whipple back on -- The torque was addictive. Since I am going to return to FI do you think that a 214/220 .559/.564 116lsa +4 would make a good supercharger cam? I like the XE lobes and figure that the blower will make up the little low end I would lose with the extra 6 degrees of duration. The 116 lsa should help it build boost and burn a little cleaner for CA emissions.

hohl - I'd go with a smaller duration cam. Not really for keeping the low end, but just so you don't have to spin it to the mid 6000s. I think the only thing that saved Parish8s last motor was he shifted before 6K. I'd think that 212/218 cam in this thread on a 116 LSA would be nice.

Thanks Richard. I thought that the 4 degrees ground in advance would bring the top of the curve to somewhere between 5800 and 6000. I take it you think this cam will want to spin somewhere north of 6k. Since my goal is just for a fun ride, not the fastest truck list, maybe I will go all the way back down to the 208/212 to make sure it lasts longer.

What kind of supercharger? The LS6 cam should make a good nitrous or FI cam. Its wide LSA and big split. It sure worked for my nitrous use. If you had a 212 218 cam ground with a 116 LSa, it woud work fine too. Or even get one custom ground in between.
