Yea, it seems like 3k has been the cutoff for guys who tow around here for the most part...

i love my 224r/circled3200 combo. it was a little doggy down low until the 4.10s went in. for u i think a 220/3000 would be still a great combo. and you could still tow 4k pounds with ease if you throw a big cooler on it.

ya that's pretty much what i had in mind. cam/3000/trans cooler. and also a set of gauges to monitor some of the temps. i dont town a great deal we have a 18' boat that i tow sometimes other than that maybe some quads sometime?

Yea I talked to one of the guys at yank on the phone when I was shopping for converters and he said he would go for the 2600-2800 if I planed on towing a lot of weight though. If you go with the 3k I would defiantly get a tru-cool 40k transmission cooler like you were talking about. Oh and you can swap out your instrument cluster for one out of a tahoe, ss, or escalade bc they all have built in transmission temp gauges.

I'd get the cooler no matter what converter you go with, especially if you tow

+1 on the cluster, I've had my Denali cluster for years and I really like it. A member here just found a used one on ebay for $100 IIRC. A nice AutoMeter trans temp gauge in the pillar, overhead console, etc. is always cool and functional too

Here's my Denali cluster...aside from the trans temp gauge, it also has a 120mph speedo

ya im deff gunna get a trans cooler, and maybe gears too. you all think 373's to a 410 change would be worth it? and ya i like the cluster but im kinda leaning towards the pillar i think

I think so, I plan to do the same swap If you plan to keep the 33's, I'd maybe consider some 4.30's also.
