whats the power curve on the cam? what heads, what SCR, what DCR basically its all on where the set starts to loose power.

but for a reference go off the rpm range of the cam

yea but all the ls1 rpm ranges are based on a 5.7l i just wonder how much higher you'd have to spin to be at the same point on a 5.3

spin it the same, but i would go with the tighter LSA honestly it will help out more with power under the curve since your down on cubes and CR

6500 is a good solid point for most setups unless its radical but of course a dyno sheet will determine it the most

ohwait i keep forgetting you guys have truck intakes and they dont flow well past 5800 rpms.

so choose cams that max out around 6

thunder, did you happen to upgrade your rod bolts? what kinda power are you putting out with that?

you also have a 4.8 so you should shift a bit higher than 5.3's

nope stock rod bolts.
last I dynoed was right at 300HP, but that was over a year ago..
I have no idea what it's at right now

cool, now im wondering about custom grind like 216/228 .600 116 or something for good off idle to high rpm...

I shift currently at 6300 with revlimiter at 6700
