2006 silverado 2500hd 4wd reg cab 6.0 lq4 it has electric fans and a 160 stat mods will come befor cam install

my cusine found a catch, a used 224-230 .581 - .588 on 114 lsa comp cam XER camshaft

we intend to do cold air intake long tube 1.3/4 to 1.7/8 headers

with full true dual exhaust

how is the cam as a DD?

will the oem tq converter work with it?

the cam opens from 2000to 7000

will be used for every thing from street racing to hard core off roading

It would work good with the 6.0, but not with the stock converter. You mayyy could get by with a trailblazer converter, but youll need at least that. Also you may be happier with dual in, single out exhaust, or at least no larger than 2 1/2" if you go dual. .02

that cam blows. ive seen it in two LS1s with 59cc 243 heads and fast intakes with 1 7/8 headers in manual cars and it barely cracked 400 to wheels. its a shitty design. the tuner is a known professional from VA speed so that rules out the tune.

look into a better cam

That's interesting to hear, I've been looking at that cam for the LQ9 eventually...the "numbers" look like it would perform well, but I guess it goes to show that real world results make all the difference

I am running that cam here myself, with stock heads, tight yank tt3000 stall and even still running the stock airbox and intake tube and I am in the low 13 second range with my 5,300 pound pig. Cam must not blow too bad.

Basically I am just saying that I like the cam and have had a good experience with it to this point.

I am running that cam ( I think) along with my L92 stuff...nothing fancy and I am in the 13's with alot more time I see coming off with some more tuning. I agree it takes a tight stall, mine is 3400...funny Klug, I am still using the stock air box, tube too, does not seem to hurt anything.

I like it, but with my heads (at the time) guys were worried about PTV, but now I think I could have gotten away with more lift, matching where my heads flow better above .600

13's in SS's doesn't sound too bad to me, both with different heads too...mine would be paired with my WCCH StageII 317's

well your alrady on a 4l80e so it may work alright with the stock stall.. i would just run 1 3/4 headers with 2.5" true dual set-up if u plan on retaining ur stock stall.... 1 7/8 with 3" is gonna hurt your torque down low..
