Secondly what should kind of cam should I go for if I am to supercharge it?
You don't want a reverse split cam like the one you just mentioned for a supercharger application. I'd recommend something along the lines of a 212/218 or better yet a 216/220 525/532 114LS (especially since I have one for sale ). The second one I mentioned is one of the biggest cams I heard being run on a stock cubed 5.3, in case you are looking for the most out of your truck. Once you get into the 220+ cams you'll start running into clearance issues. If you are interested in the cam I have let me know and one more thing you should know is that you'll definitely need to change out your valve springs with just about any cam swap. Good luck on your project.

clearance isn't an issue on a 226/226 .592/.592 cam, a good friend of mine is running the GTP piglet cam in his STOCK 99 5.3

how does the truck run with that 226 cam? I have seen a package for the 5.3 that is around 234 227 with stage 2 heads I will have to check back to see who makes it.
