Default 2500hd getting trans plant/input welcome

Ok, had an iron block Lq4 sitting around and a Ls3 camaro rotating assembly. The marriage began. Started with machine work, a reluctor wheel change and a stern balancing.... Then, assembly with milled Ls3 ported and polished heads with upgraded S.S. valves and springs...OK. Now, I have to admit this was for the previous GTO project. So, It has a nice G6x3 spec cam in it... But, I want to do a cam swap and install the L92 intake and me it a torque 'monster'...

Please, help with a good d.d. towing cam with this kinda compression and head.

The truck is a 2003 2500HD A4 4.10 gear with 35's.

what do you guys think about this combo?

I was figuring it should be about 480-500 rwhp in the car with the 6 spd.

Now, I want the torque... Watcha think?

Honestly it sounds like you need to get a cam specced to your needs.

I would say a 225/231. 600/605 on. 113 ...not too big bit big enough .. And a nice split for the l92 heads and just enough chop

Imo you should run the 317's the truck has/had if you want a torque monster, those l92/ls3 heads have shown a loss down low, if you are dead set on running them do some research on cam selection, they def like less cam than cathedrals for torque...check out vinci's website and contact them about your build

Cathedral port heads......... and sell the rectangulars to someone with something light that wants lots of rpm. Drive a tuned late model 6 liter HD and see about the torque loss mentioned above.... of course disregarding the granny first gear of the 6L90E trying to compensate.

I am about to install my cast iron 11 to1 LS3 in my 02 HD. I am running stage 3 317's and a ISKY 218/218 605/605 @ 110. I use to hate on the cathedrals when I had Rec's, but the low end torque difference is incrediable. This ISKy has a great lope and pulls from 1200 to 6500.

Wow. that outa work... But, why the 110 instead like a 114or115? Are you goin for the chop. Or the wider power band?

110 gives you a choppy idle, more low end TQ and bleeds off some compression so you can run 93 octane. Isky part # 271-HR-814 (110)
