255lpg!!!
Hey parish8 thanks for all the advise. THis website is kick ***. I should be getting the ls1edit here soon. I dont know about the stall converter thing. I drive mine to work everyday and I dont want to soose drivability?? What do you think? The fuel pump worked, but you have to do a little mods on the fuel lines, no big deal though. Also what eaton rear end do yall use on the trucks?? mine is a 99 silverado with a 4.10 in it. And is it worth it?

Re: 255lpg!!!
with the exception of nitrous a stall is the best bang for the buck mod you can do. for $700+install you can gain 1/2sec or more, i drive mine everyday, everywhere, winter, summer, mud, snow, towing, mountains, after a couple of days you won't even know it is there. once your up to speed the converter locks up and is just like stock so no loss in miliage.
tell us more about the fuel pump install, is the pick up near the back of the tank? did you just stick that little sock on there?
i really like the eaton posi, it didn't cost too much and was easy to put in. it is something i would recomend but you don't really need to do it till you notice the truck smoking one tire. the factory unit wont lock above 25mph(i think), i can peel out with both tires in 2wd up to 50mph or so, with just a one wheel wonder above 25mph like the g80 is i would peel out forever. once you get more power the g80 wont consistantly lock up out of the hole and when it does it releases at a bad time. you try and do a nice posi slide with the rear around a corner and all of the sudded it releases and the truck stratins out violently, that just doesn't look cool.

Re: 255lpg!!!
hey guys i have put a 255 lph fuel pump in my 99 chevy truck. i had to modify the fuel pump holder because the ls1 pump was a different size than the stock one. i just used a drill press to drill out the hole so it will fit.

Hey parish did you get a newer pcm when you swapped to a 6.0L, or are you still using the '99-2000 pcm? If you are using the same pcm, I could send you the software I am using to see if it is the same. I have had LS1edit for about four months. Make a new Yahoo account so I can send all of it to you. It maxes out accounts with files already in it.

Re: 255lpg!!!
i still have the 99pcm that came in the truck. if you start the program you will see what the version is, i am using version 1.1, if there is a newer version i would love to have it but i havn't heard anyone talk about one so i am thinking that there havn't been any recent updates.
if you do have a version newer than 1.1 you can just forward me the 3 files that they sent you. they are all less then 1.4meg so they should get thru ok.
thanks
Jim

Re: 255lpg!!!
hey, i just loaded that update, it loaded up as the older version 1.05, can you check out a couple of things for me, looks like you might have the older version and be the one that needs an update. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> , 1.1 version has a couple of cool features that 1.05 doesn't have.
under "engine" under "test parameters" do you have a box labeled "catalytic converter overtemp"? if you don't then you have the older version if you do then it just didn't load up right. let me know.
thanks
