Default 25hp from blower???

I had my truck dyno wideband tuned today. After he played with the A/F to get it right, we started dyno and driving it to get as much as we safely could get. We ended up at a whopping 275hp. I had the stock airbox and I dont have the headers on yet. I only have the magnaflow catback. We could only get 14* of timing safely. Im seeing about 5 1/2 pounds of boost. What is going on?? Does this sound right??? If I recall correctly, our trucks put down 249 rwhp stock!!

Damn dude, that sucks. I would be pissed after dropping that much cash. I'm sure it will get worked out though.

Was it a mustang dyno? Or a dynojet? I know mustang dyno's dyno alot lower than dynojets.

Were those #'s corrected? Maybe all dyno's do this, but I know there is a correction factor that needs to be applied to correct for temp, humidity, and elevation.

What gear did you dyno in?

Also, you can probably take 15-25hp off for that converter if you ran unlocked.

Too bad you don't have some before and after #'s on the same dyno. Who knows, maybe it would have dynoed 220 before the blower.

I don't think he has it hooked up yet.

Honestly, I really wouldn't expect more than 300 rwhp from 5.5psi non intercooled boost.

It was on a Dyno jet. Im not sure what the AFR was with Westers. I do know that he had 17* of timing and it was "dangerously lean" by 3500 rpm. He immediately let off. We had to take it to a dealer to have it flashed back to stock b/c Lyndon does lock his programs. The first drive we went on he didnt believe anyone attemped tuning it since it was so bad. He didnt believe me until he saw the lock.
No, no alky at this time. It was also 97 degrees outside and they had only 1 fan blowing up from the floor towards it.
I wont be tuned again until the end of the year. At that time I'll have cats removed, LT headers, airbox mod, 11# pulley and alk injection. I think F8LPONY dynoed higher than me with a cam!!!!
Stock trucks are putting down near 250hp!!!

If my stock 6.0L with a cam doesn't dyno higher than that I'm selling the truck! I would have expected somewhere around 350-375 with your set-up. As F8TLPONY said, it is something stupid that has been overlooked. 14* of timing with only 5 1/2 lbs of boost doesn't sound right....even with bad gas I would have expected much more. I say take it to the track and let the ET speak for it...in a Tahoe with 275rwhp I would expect high 14's at best. How does it feel when you drive it??

You defiantely have a problem bro. Let me think and I will try and give you some things to look for.

I made 349rwhp, 346rwtq on 5psi with my turbo but I also have a cam. That was without Alk so you should be over 300rwhp NP.
