Question 2wd and 4wd fatory y pipe?

are they the same?

the reason i ask b/c on my 04 Z71 (122k mi) i'm throwing a hard P0430 code
and i'm thinking that the drivers side cat may be clogged up. if they are indeed the same, i could swap it out with my low mileage y pipe that came off of Blue.

thanks in advance,
Lance

Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2) drivers side

cat could be plugged or
that code can be for too much flow rather than not enough,
cat unable to clean exhaust to parameters
usually set after headers and/or high flow cats installed,
could be the guts are already blown out of the cat.
i beleive the 2wd and 4wd cats are close enough the swap.

I believe 430 code is low efficiency on bank 2. The Y pipes should be close. If not can always do a little fabbing.

thanks for the help guys.
anymore insight on if the y pipes are interchangeable?

i would do no cats but i want it to be quiet. i have a 3" 5x8 14" case magnaflow i need to put on, in place of the stock muffler. i know it's going to be quiet with cats b/c i'm leaving the stock tail pipe on. i'm just afraid that it will be too loud for my taste in a DD if i remove the cats.

I pulled that code and when I dropped my stainless y-pipe the cats were empty so yes, it could be a clogged cat or missing innards.

Hey BlueCajun, I have my factory Y-pipe sitting in the backyard, it's a little cut up, but if you want I could bring it this weekend to give you a size comparison between your 2wd and my 4wd sitting side by side.

Quick Reply: 2wd and 4wd fatory y pipe?
