Default 3 in or 2.5 in exhaust? Please Help!

Im about to purchase texas speed 1 3/4 longtubes and 3 inch offroad y pipe, my question is: Should I run 3 inch tailpipes or 2.5? I have a magnaflow si/do muffler exiting right before the rear tire, I want what will be best for performance. Thanks. Also, mods in sig.

Id do single 3 to dual 2.5 out the back, there will be no gain by going from a single 3 to dual 3

yeah, it don't look like you've done enough to warrant 3" tails. i'm actually running dual 2.25" behind a single 3" mid, and it's great.

It will sound alittle deeper/louder with the dual 3" tails. And will look better IMO

i tend to disagree with the louder part, and the tone can be deepened up a bit with some longer tips. i'm running dual 3.5x22 & they fattened up the sound quite a bit

FWIW, I just went from dual 3" to factory muffler with single 3" outlet - to a magnaflow 2x2 muffler with dual 3" tailpipes and it made a big difference on power output above 4k rpms. This is on a 5.3 based H/C stroker engine.

Okay, from my experience, won't 3 inch tails take away a little torque? Correct me if Im wrong.. I was wondering if it would be a major power difference or not.. Just to clarify, The system will be a full 3 inch system, to a single in dual out 14 inch magnaflow, im trying to decide on 3 inch tails to make a full 3 inch system or 2.5 inch tails, once again, each pipe is only going to be about 14-18 inches at most as it exits in front of rear tire. My tips are 3 1/2x10 I think. Somewhere in there.

key factor being *stroker

but honestly, if it's only a foot after the muffler, i don't think it's really enough to make a big difference anyway
