I did an intake swap for a local guy (TBSS intake on a 1999) he had the retuned pcm shipped to me before he brought the truck over for the swap, after swapping everything over the engine would only run about a second that stall. (even with stepping on gas) at first I thought it was a security or crank relearn problem, but ruled those out. After going through everything and checking all the connectors I noticed that the MAF was not plugged it, plugged it in and the truck fired up and ran just fine.

I've unhooked my MAF before, it runs just a hair rich, but still runs just fine. Maybe it's a problem of custom tune vs. stock tune?
Anyway... I'm glad this got figured out and wasn't anything major. I think we're all about as excited as you are to see this project finished.

the reason its not running without both connected is because the computer has had no learning time. once the computer figures out the tune/engine i could run without the map or the maf.

Charlie is a good tuner but getting everything right in a mail-order tune without logging anything is a pretty big crap shoot. I'd be surprised if 20 percent of all mail order tunes ran decently with that many mods. You need to get it to a tuner who can work with the car in person.
