Do you guys know who builds a reliable tranny in the Los Angeles area? NOS maybe. Or I can wait till next year and buy the radix. OH, and eaton is on its way.

A PROVEN rotating assembly will be around $3800-$4000. Now add in everything else: re-sleeving your block, assembly, gaskets, etc. I went through this already myself, nothing goes smoothly. The stroker shortblock will cost you $6000+. A good set of ported heads are $2000+. It adds up fast, even if you were to go with an Eagle crank, you'd still be spending upwards $6000 on parts alone.

How much RWHP are we talking here. I all of a sudden got interested in a Radix. How much boost can I run on my engine? I want to know HP.

Ok Ok, heres the final question, How about a 4" eagle crank, Radix, and I think If I look under the couch cushions i might have enough for the built tranny and a beer. Give me direction, pls. I dont want to regret what ever im gonna do. The eaton is still on the way.

silent i am right there with you. i see these people wanting bad *** motors all the time and think they can get them cheap. i dont ever say anything because i dont want to start a **** talking match.

i will just say build it and then tell me how much it ended up costing if you prove me wrong than great. i have done it and it aint cheap like silent said. also i am kinda **** about the quality of parts i put in.

dont flame or start talking un less you HAVE ALREADY built a motor please. it all looks good on paper. o and also dont set a time frame cause it aint going to happen.

building a motor ALWAYS takes longer than planned unless you have an unlimited budget and can do the work whenever you want. i've been working on mine for almost a year now and it's still not done. but you can budget your expenses and get a completely accurate idea of what it is going to cost and you could definatly do a stroker motor for the budget you have in mind..with heads and everything else.

you could definatly find a used 6.0, buy a radix and a cam, headers cam for your 5500. maybe even a stall if you budget things and do some searching, then sell your stock 4.8/5.3 to get some back.

He already has an excellent platform to start with, an alluminum LS1/6 engine. Get a set of good stage II heads, blower cam, a Radix and he'll have an easy 450-500+RWHP/RWTQ. Either way you (Rob) decide to go, plan on and save for a built trans.

I wouldnt run a radix why not one of the new turbo kits ? The radix probaly can't flow enough for a bigger motor.
