Default 4.10's Are In.

After a fiasco with my HPP not wanting to reprogram for the new gears and my dash lighting up like a Christmas tree, I got it all worked out now (I hope)

Making the jump from 3.42’s to 4.10’s was vary noticeable. The shifts come on sooner, like if Im making a right from a stop sign in the middle of the turn it will shift now, where as with my 3.42’s it would shift after I had completed the turn. It also shifts harder now, a lot harder. I can really feel torque management trying to steal the fun now more then before. From a dead stop if I hammer the go pedal it will really light them up now. Before my no torque having 4.8 would hardly make a chirp.

Now I need to get to the track and see if it made an improvement, and get my 60’ below the 2.3 mark.

GoldenVelvet, I ordered them from the factory in my truck. Personally I think you may gain some mileage with these setup. You have a high reving motor that is going to like being closer to powerband so I doubt fuel mileage will suffer at all. I have only had my truck for a few weeks now and I love the response and power-to-the-pavement with a 100% stock engine/transmission setup. I wonder what it will be like after some mods..........

I heat cycled them a few times. Did a traditional break in. Didnt go above 50, vaired my speed. Then today I tried to break them. I havnt had the feel the wrath of nitrous yet.

Im not trying to pressure you but…
Get yours installed, all the cool kids are doing it. You want people to think your cool dont you? Dont worry you cant get pregnant the first time. If you love me you’d do it.

i know going from 42's to 73's the acceleration off the line was vastly improved. i know what you mean by turning at a stop sign. i chirp my tires halfway through the turn each time. likewise, i felt more tq management from the gear change as well. or at least it made it more noticable to me.

Yeah you'll like them. Thank god for OD! I thought my gas mileage was going to suck. But I keep records of my gas mileage and I get about 16.5 city and have gotten over 18 mpg on highway.

I went from a 16.2 to a 15.8 on the 1/4 mile when I went from a 3.42 to a 4.10 and I didnt do a posi. I still have a open diff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I already had a custom tune so I just got Allen to update my tune. It took 2 tunes because the 1st one needed the rev limiter raised some more! Congrats man I love 4.10's and I honestly gained like 1.5 mpg in the city!

At 65-70 mph I was running around 2100 rpm or so.
