Yep. My buddy had an OBS '95 1500 RCSB with a 4.3 and a manual tranny and he was struggling to get 18s at the track. However, couldn't he get the 4.3 and swap in an old 350, LT1, L89 etc? With fuel injection, it wouldn't kill you, and the aftermarket is MASSIVE.

the 5.3 feels like it has so much more power that the 4.3 it it ridiculuous...the 4.3 to 6.0 swap is too involved thats why i havent done it yet.. im trying to find a 5.3 truck rcsb
bluecajun is running mid 12s with a bolt-on 5.3 he might have a cam idk

Bluecajun has 4.10s, posi, tr220, I believe a 3k stall. He's running a 12.54
I know that because I'm thinking about doing a tr220 swap in my truck and his truck is my idol

so how much money (including installation prices) is it taking to get a 5.3 ecsb 2wd auto 3 73 into the mid 14's? seems like it might be pretty easy to do. you guys have definitely convinced me to not bother with the 4.3, i'll probably just try to score a deal on the 5.3 so i dont have to worry about a swap since thats completely above my mechanical abilities and would have to waste money having someone else install it

Fuddle 3k stall-$450
Nelson Dyno Tune-$500
that along would have you between a 14.1-14.3. If you look around and wait you can score a good cam on this board or ls1tech for about $400 for everything and fuddle has sales sometimes.
So if you do it yourself it would end up costing you $2000 to buy the parts and tools
