4.56s a good idea?
Ive got an 04 1500 ext cab 4x4. currently has 60,000 miles. ive got heddman headers,no cats, dual 3 inch, afe cai, efi live custom tune, throttle body spacer. and a 100hp shot for fun. I talked to someone and they ran the vin # and told me my truck was running 3:12 or 3:17s something weird like that. I know that u can get 4.11s stock but I was wondering if 4.56s would fit in there and if it would cause any tranny issues? I just use this truck for mainly running around town and could someone tell me a good place to shop around.

My 2006 had 3.23's from the factory with a 4.8. I don't know what the vin or RPO was at the time, but it was good on gas just kind of a dog. Swapping to 4.10's was THE BEST $500 I *EVER* spent on a performance mod. After the install, my ABS and brake lights came on, my speedometer was way off, and there was a message in my DIC. I had a custom tune and had to meet with the tuner to have it all corrected.
I was running 275/45/20's (about 31"?) on a 2wd, so make sure you take your tire size into account. When I traded the truck in I kept the wheels and put stock spare tires bought at a junk yard (245/70/17?) on it for the drive back to the dealership. With the 4.10's it was NOT street-able! Every 1-2 shift the tires would break loose, and again at 2-3.
