Default 4.8 2004 vacuum pump

does anyone own a 04 with the 4.8 that knows what that thing is between the brake booster and intake it has like 5 or more wires going to it. snakeeater thought it maybe a vacuum pump but were not sure. but thats what it looks like. another one is where is my fuel pressure regulator i looked every where i'm guessing its in the tank i found one line feedint the fuel rails and another going back to the tank from the intake manifold its hooked to the manifold and has a green lid over a valve stem looking thing and has a plug with like 3 wires going to it. so if its in my tank is it like computer controlled or is there anyway to adjust it or what??

plaese help.

mike

I'm not sure what the thing between the brake booster and intake is you're talking about. Never really payed much attention to that area.

The 04's now have the regulator in the tank like on the Fbodys. I don't think there is anyway to adjust the fuel pressure with that setup. The green capped line is from the evaporative purge tank for gas fumes I think.

Stock fuel pressure should be 58-59psi. It is constant at that and is not adjustable through the computer. That would be a neat feature though.

Can you get a picture of the thing between the intake and brake booster?

i have a 234/232 595/595(in a 6.0) and the thing only kicks on for a sec or two right when i first start the truck and try and drive.

it only suplements the brake system so dont get it confused with any kind of crank case vacume set up.
