. Credits NOT required to READ tune.
.
. BEST way to determine 4.8 vs 5.3 displacement question is to upgrayyd the valve springs, and then add a LOT of manifold pressure.
IF it keeps asking for MORE PRESSURE, and it can take " All You Got" then you've got a 4.8.

clarified that for ya'
it also used the standard dished pistons & only came in very specific small SUVs (Envoy XL, Trailblazer EXT, SSR, Rainier, & Ascender)
since it was simply an aluminum-block LM7, the dished pistons would give it away as a 5.3
determining the diff gearing... duh. much easier to pinpoint and/or explain better potential 4.8 performance than determining if it's got a higher-stall converter.
and i spent almost 15yrs as a GMT800 gasser guy, thanks
...manual trans - you got me there. didn't stop my cammed 5.3 with 4.30s from ripping the teeth out of my head.
hence my suspicion that you've got better gearing and/or a good tune.

It's grown a lot in the past 5 years. Tons of non chain restaurants, brew houses, lots of local hangs. Plus there's a pretty good car scene now. Ford throws a cars and coffee once a month and the local group does one on alternating weekends plus some night cruises.
That's not what this truck is for hahaha, but my firebird and camaro get out whenever it's pretty.
Thanks all for the help and info!
