Anyone have any suggestions for the tuning a 4.8L with the PP3? I been playing with it a little but would like some advice on setting a good rev limit and shift points. I have already bumped up the speed limiter, tuned it for cheap gas, firmer shifts, and changed the tire size for 285/60/18s.

Before I sold it to get a very superior Nelson tune I think I had it like 1-2 +9
2-3 +10 3-4 +9. I had them set even higher than that at some time. They were all usually 8 or higher and I had the rev limiter set at 5900 and 6000. Alot of people use +5 +9 +7

1-2 +9????!!!!! i don't think the HPP3 will let you go that high but if it did you'd molest the rev limiter.
on my truck, with 3.73 gears, 285/60/16 tires, i have my limiter set at 6200 and the shift points at:
1-2 +4
2-3 +12 (i think thats as high as it goes, i know its maxed out)
3-4 +0 (if yur getting that far into the gears during races you need more tuning than hypertech anyway)

I set mine up at the track( when I had one ). made a pass, and kept changing it untill it leveled off, then went to the 2-3 shift and set it untill my times stopped getting smaller. seemed to work pretty well. it was good for a 10th or 2 better in the 1/4
